The goal of the sound project was to create a sound that would properly display a scene. Within this project we were required to choose a one to two minute scene , in real life time, to sound out meaning that realistically the scene should be able to happen in that time frame. Although it was not mandatory, the maximum of words we were able to use was seven. It was mandatory to create a minimum of 4 foley sounds, meaning we were to make the sounds ourselves with the help of either an inanimate or not object.
The scene I chose to dedicate my project to was two samurais dueling to the death. To do this I started by layering the sounds of bird chirps, a light breeze, and a river stream as my secondary sounds. Occasionally I would add sounds of metal clashing, since the samurais were wearing metal armor to indicate movement I later added on my primary sounds, these included footsteps, swords being drawn, and swords clashing, this would help indicates that my fighters were battling and had begun to duel, these sounds would be the main focus of my audio. Some of my foley sounds included the scratching of nails on a metal thermos is to mimic the sound of a sword being drawn; the running of water in a sink to mimic the sound of a flowing river; and footsteps on wooden floor used to sound like heavy footsteps.
This links includes both my final sound project and the sound project outline.
