Camera Shots and Angles

The camera shots and angles quiz was divided into two major parts, the slideshow, and the text box submission. For the slide show portion the students taking this quiz were required to make a story which concluded of 15 camera shots, in which the protagonist was a non-living object. This was to be on either a Power point or Google slideshow. Each slide was to be titled with the type of shot it was, as well as contain a short paragraph consisting of an explanation of what was going on in the camera shot. For the second portion, the text box submission was a short summary off what had been displayed in the given camera shot.

When starting this project, I divided it into portions. I started off by choosing an object, I then planned out each scene, the camera shot technique that would be used, and what I wanted it to look like. I later made my way to the place the story took place in, the setting. When arriving at the setting I attempted to apply the shots to the surroundings, before starting. I later took some practice shots and did my best at capturing everything I wanted in the frame. In the first shot I made sure to include the protagonist, and use an establishing scene, this was to make the concept seem more clear. I then created more slides that lead up to a problem, which towards the ending would have a resolution, and be solved, creating a story.

Upon reflection on this quiz, I realized I should have payed more attention to the framing and structure of the shots, meaning I should have made sure that the subject was correctly placed and included in the frame. An example of my error is that I framed more of the bottle(almost entire subject)than needed when taking a mid-shot which only needs to be from the waist up.
